Were they originally lit and just have burned out bulbs or have no original lights? If the bulbs are just out they’ll need to be replaced and wheels, axles and pickup wipers will need to be cleaned.
If they do not have original lights and you want to light with track power that’s a bit trickier.
Battery LEDs may be the way to go there. Let us know what they are and we can advise you from there.

These are similar to the silver side passengers
in which I installed lighting. If so, you would
simply pry the shell away from the frame to
get inside.

You may have to install metal wheels if they
come with plastic. It's not difficult to use
Kadee #5 metal centering spring boxes to
rub on the wheels for power pick up.

I used the 12 V strip LEDs. (the effect is flourescent
lighting). You'll need to rectify the AC current with
diodes and use a resistor to drop voltage.

With metal wheels on one side of each truck it appears
that these cars were designed to be lighted. Have
you taken off the shell? You would likely find a light
or socket for one.

However, I would still rewire per my earlier post. The
lighting would be much more stable.
