Hi, I'm new to this forum, and new to model trains. I am planning to build my first layout with a 1980s or '90s theme. I currently have one train, a Hornby tank engine. I like this train, but it does not fit my theme so I am looking for modern British commuter trains (particularly ones operated on the British east cost main line) and I find Hornby is quite lacking when it comes to modern electric trains. So, I'd like to ask if anyone could recommend a good brand for modern electric trains. Thanks.

Are you modeling British or wanting to model American railroads?

If American railroads, I doubt you find anything available in OO scale.

British. I'm particularly looking for a class 142, class 319, class 313 and class 365 but really any 80s or 90s british commuter train would do.

Probably a dumb assumption on my part, but I assume you have looked at Hornby's web-site.....?
