I've seen (or at least think so) different types or numbered Kadee couplers. I'm getting ready to take the plunge and convert all of mine over to Kadee. Are they all compatible? Are some more desired than others and why?
Thanks!

They will all work together. they are for different applications go to
http://www.kadee.com/htmbord/coupler.htm for information. I use them exclusively. If I purchase something with a counterfeit Kadee I change it for a real one. I don't know how large you fleet of cars is but start now. It is hard to catch up if you wait. I had about 50 cars when I started changing and thought I would never get them all changed. If I had to now it would be a nightmare with over 300 cars.

Like Les said...I started at 20 and thought it wouldn't end...:D Now I've gotten lazy, if a train is made up of specialized cars, like a passenger train, I leave the horn-hooks on. If I have Kadees on a loco and want to pull those cars, I cut in this auxiliary water car, it has hooks on one end and Kadees on the other...er...now. ;)

okay, just when I was looking for a forum on couplers, I finally found one.
What I have is plastic ones, and being a newbie, was amazed about Kadee.
Who Bouy!
Any idea where I can get the plastic ones for now??
I know I need to look at sites, and investigate.
Thanks

Are you saying you want the counterfeits because of the price? If so you would be far ahead of the game to get a few Kadees and a conversion car as Shaygetz described. Then buy one pack of Kadees at a time as you get the $$. The others are a waste of money, they will fail. you can find both Kadees and %-*%$y ones at Local Hobby Shops

If I'm not mistaken Kadee sells a variety pack and even a Yearly deal where you get a variety of them. I do agree though it does take a few to change things out. and a few $$$
Still beats the price of Sargents couplers, although I still like the way they look.
Sargents Coupler is on the Hopper

Counterfeits???

I'm still a Newbie, have no Idea what Kadee is?
I've just brought out my Collection of HO Trains, from over 15 years ago, and decided to build a Layout.
I only know that the Cars have the simple plastic couplers.
I just want to get the Trains up and running.
and I only joined this forum to Learn how to get it up and running.

And as for the $$$ Price, I got Layed Off end of November,
what I do have is a lot of Time, Track, Cars, over and under, 6 working accesories, to bring Me back to the Childhood of my dreams as a Kid

I now have the Time to do that.

Thank You
