My wife gave me a MTH D&H wide vision caboose to go with my newish D&H RS3....

Excellent choice!

Her Grandfather was a Conductor on the D&H in the 50’s and 60’s...

Nice, radio equipped, didn't they need an antenna?

I've seen a lot of photos of radio equipped stuff (locos and cabooses) without an obvious antenna sticking up. I guess most of the roads did a better job of hiding their antennae that PRR did with their train phone antennae. I do have a couple of LVRR GP38s with antennae, but they are fairly subtle.

D&H seemed to use large portable radios in their hacks. I looked and looked for photographic evidence of some sort of antenna on D&H cabooses and I found none.

No firecracker, no skate, no whip. I don’t know what the had...
