I finally got around to wiring my reversing loops, ended up using different transformers for the loop and mainline. Some engines stall across the insulated joiners and some don't. Any suggestions? Should I rewire the loop to the same transformer?

One transformer is all you need for DC.

You will need to install a DPDT toggle to your main power feed to reverse polarity on the "mainline" when the train is transversing the reverse loop. Do not run the reverse loop power through this (use a completely separate feed from the power pack).

The Atlas "controller" can also do this, I think.

It's been a long time... :)
