DCC and DC

I have a DC layout with blocks. Can I connect a DCC system on top of the DC and use either one I want? Not at the same time of course.

A dc loco on dcc track makes one god awful noise. No doubt in that. On the digitrax system you can use the address of 0 to run a dcc loco but definitely don’t suggest it. You can on the ez command by bachmann too you hit address 10. Disclaimer... I don’t suggest doing that!
