So I got a nice deal on a restored American Flyer K335 engine that is painted black with no decals on it.
Can I just detailed this one as a UP 844 and if so what decals do I get and where do I get them. S gauge is still new to me.
Otherwise if I go with the original decals again where do I get them and what do I ask for?

When I do a repaint/restore, I use dry-rub transfers from Doug Peck. Check with him, he should have what you need.

Jeff, I hope you enjoy the AF engine. Flyernut's suggestion is the easiest approach for dry transfers of all Gilbert names. If you want S scale decals accurate for names Gilbert never made go to NASG.org. They have a listing of all S scale decal manufacturers and suppliers. These are used by the true, accurate S scale community. Most of us here are highrailers that use Gilbert, Lionel, American Models and MTH equipment so we usually have no need for the resources posted on the NASG decal list.
