Can a Zepher DCS50 be added as a booster/throttle to the new Zepher Express? I don’t see anything in the Express manual to do this, only references adding smooth DC packs for throttles.

Adding an additional Zepher is in the manuals for the discontinued DCS50 and 51.

The DCS50 is a complete DCC system and is not
intended to be an additional controller or power supply
for an existing system.

Why do you want to add to your system?

Do you want additional, perhaps wireless, controls?

Do you need additional amps?

There are other devices you can use to upgrade
your system.

Yes I know. I have a DCS50 and want to keep as a throttle and boost amps by 2.5. The DCS51 was able to add a 50 or 51 for booster and throttle. I don’t find that in the Express manual which doesn’t make sense to me. The Zepher is cheaper than buying a booster and an additional loco net throttle.

I also want create two power districts for my expanded layout. I am doubling the size and not sure if 3 amps will be enough power

The DCS50 and 51 were able to change settings from a control system to just a booster and throttle

Regardless of the number of power
districts you have there can be only one
DCC system connected to your layout.

You can add a booster that will provide more
amps if you have a number of sound locos or
an even larger number of non sound locos
and lighted cars. The total track footage has
no bearing on the current draw. Only the number
of locos and lighted cars do.

You can also add a extra controllers but
they must be connected thru your one DCC
system. They can be wired or wireless.
You can even add a device that permits
you to use a smart phone as a controller.
