My Grand Daughter started running train at 3 years old. She is now 4 1/2 and has mastered DCS quite well. I have a new Great Grandson who is only 2 months old so it will be a while before the training begins.

Anyone else training their kids or grandkids in command control.

I'm starting my two grandkids ( boy & girl) on real trains, both steam and deisel....we have a great historical park here (Heritage Park), and they have 2 running steam switchers, passenger and freight cars, plus a few static display locomotives......

My thought is if I can get them hooked on real trains, the step to model railroading will be shorter....:)

My youngest started at 4-1/2. He's 16 now, and has his own layout and everything. Doesn't do it as much as he used to, but to be fair, I lost interest for a while at that age myself.
