A version of the Baldwin DT-6-6-2000? They called them transfer locomotives. Ungainly beasts that never got into the mainstream and rapidly disappeared.
It’s a good project on an interesting piece of railroad history. Maybe painting it in colors of one road would be more accurate?

Well I think it's both pretty neat of a kitbash, and being N scale, requires more skill or better eyesight than HO.
I don't think she's going for Baldwin accuracy, nor gotten to the painting stage.

@QueenoftheGN It might be my eyes but to me it looks like the frame sags in the middle a bit. I'm not sure if that is the case or just my eyes. If it is sagging though, brass angle (from K&S) should solve that. Obviously with the vertical side near the motor going up so it doesn't largely interfere with the shells fitting, including sill width.

This'll be fun to watch regardless. I always liked Frankenlocos.

Could the 2nd motor be wired reverse of the first? That'd give it all wheel pickup, all wheel drive, but two tandem motors working together.
I think it would be designated a GP80-2 though. The Dash represents upgrades to mostly internal components, With some external electrical cabinets etc. So like OS 14.5. Partitioning a HD is still 14.5 on two partitions, not OS 29.
But I like it, and curious to see what livery it'll end up in at the big final curtain draw.

There's no such thing as a "-4" series. The "-2" (and later "-3") represented changes to the internal electronic control systems of the engine. There's never been a "-4" upgrade. Your original GP40s might have been upgraded to "-2" wiring, but having twin engines doesn't double the "-2" designator.

Also of note, the twin-engine DD40AX was still marked in the 40-series and not 80...
