Dress light, with slip on shoes (wear socks) and minimal metal in your pockets. It will make it less painful going through security.

I totally agree with Broke.

I do not like to fly much as my knees begin to hurt without being able to stretch them out. I will fly if I have to, but prefer to take a road trip with the top down. I spent some time working for United. My favorite plane is the old DC-6 B (all first class). Second is the 727 with the middle seats turned into trays.
