Some time ago someone posted pics of SF passenger cars from early 2000. If I remember correctly, there were comments that these may have been the nicest SF passenger cars ever made.

Now I can't find the post.

Anyone remember these?? Lionel #'s??

Thanks!!

A couple of people claim that the GGD Santa Fe cars were the best looking cars ever produced for the 3-rail guys. I had the complete 12-car set and was very happy when I sold them after 1 year for $600 les than I paid. If that was the best passenger cars ever then the bar must be pretty low.

GGD invested lots of $$$ in the R&D for this project then imho dropped the ball on the finished product. For basically a few dollars more they have hit a grand slam but settled for a ground rule double.

With a list price of $300 a car. I was really disappointed.

There are a couple of possibilities, at least, since I don't recall the specifics of the post:

1. Set 6-21786 which included Santa Fe F-3 ABBA, and seven passenger cars with populated interiors and an anodized (shiny) exterior finish; or,

2. Five car set of SF anodized, silhouette window cars: 6-19109 through 6-19113 and an add-on full-length dome, 6-19128.

These are 15" cars, of course.
