Howdy all! I've been doing trains since a kid. First playing with my dad's Lionel set, then getting into my own HO set up. Many years later, I got into G Scale big out of the gate - Aristocraft Mallet 2-8-8-2 as my first G locomotive.

I'm an electrical and software engineer by profession, and develop manufacturing control systems (SCADA/PLC). So naturally I want to get into computer controlled DCC. Looked at it briefly years ago, but other life responsibilities made me set it aside. Also, I could see it was not very mature 10 - 15 years ago, so I decided to wait.

I now have an interesting opportunity to do something creative with G scale and computer DCC, so I'll be hanging mostly in that sub and trying to learn from you guys as to what's good and not so good in the DCC world.

Welcome aboard, Mallet. G scale is lots of fun but takes a lot of room. If I had the room I would love G. I look forward to seeing your layout come to life.
