3) Here is a shot with it and an Ives 11 cast iron shell... too big. But the mounting is sooo close. Notch in the back and screw mount in the front? Just too big for this shell.

4) Also the T bar shields covering the brushes on one side and the drive gear on the other sits too high for the shell - and I am sure these are factory made for the motor.

you can also see in that picture the brass rod shaved down to connect the two sides together and factory and otherwise unmolested.

I feel like Sherlock Homes

That would be a good reason why I can't find any like that.
It is one of a kind. :)

Not bad for a MacGyver job, you said it runs good?
Runs? Yeah fast as “heck”, once I wrapped some wire around those worn springs! I will look forward to more macgyver contributions to this piece in the future.
