Hello,

I have an older 0-4-0 Mantua and I was waondering if anyone could tell me how and where to solder back on the black wire comming from the tender.:confused:

The motor should be grounded to the loco frame, leaving a tab on the motor that has evidence of where that one wire should go. I have one but it's still in its protective cocoon from my recent move or I'd post a pic.

Since it is insulated it would go to an insulated part of the motor. It will make it run then go to ground. If the drive wheels are insulated it will return to the tender via the drawbar.
The Mantuas used a plastic draw bar. The black wire goes from the frame of the tender to the frame of the loco. Make sure that wherever you connect it to the connection is free of paint and corrosion.
