I have an old dead steamer that is cosmetically excellent. The tender is too small to use as a power unit. Does any one sell a kit that is a box car to use as a locomotive? I would place it just after the tender so it would push the loco and pull the train cars. Has anyone done this?

You could probably put the mechanism from a Bachmann Brill trolley under the shell of one of their old timer box cars...that's where I'd start.

I'd repower the loco. Not a hard job at all in most cases.
