Look at the points on this switch. How do the left wheels crossover to the siding?
Must be a way or else it wouldn't be there. :confused:

I wonder if a "gandy dancer's" car sits on that siding, and they just hump it onto the main tracks when they pull it up there? Would avoid the cost of a full-fledged turnout. No guesses otherwise.

I don't think that is a switch at all.
Look close and you see that all the rail is spiked down. No way to move?
And notice the tie plates, they are not the larger plates used with switches.

Notice the rail over where I drew the lines, it looks to be a switch stand there? And down the end is what appears to be a little work flat bed. Sorry I could not make paint do a different color.
And behind the switch (if it is a switch) look to be 2 box cars?
Somehow they got back there?

Very strange, maybe they clamped on portable switch points when they moved cars around? Therefor only needing 2 points?:dunno:

If you look at the first picture the rail slides to mate with the others. No points.
But the picture Magic posted it looks like there is nothing that slides at all?
I guess something slides?:dunno:

I found this shot.

In my searching I found these other 2, they both must have been a nightmare to keep clear of snow!:p

That one with all the catenary wires looks like a gigantic bug zapper!!:D
