I have some cars with Kadee couples where the trip pin rotates freely in the "shaft" or "back" of the knuckle it is supposed to open. Is there any way to fix this? I thought of putting a drop of supper glue on the trip pin, but am afraid that it would just make the whole coupler a solid dummy.

If you really do put a drop -- and I do mean a drop, as in, tip of a toothpick amount -- and are careful to place it ONLY on the trip pin, thin CA will work. It will wick down into the hole. Too much, though, and you will be replacing the coupler...

first of all, are the genuine Kadees ?? secondly, whats the model of the coupler, i could see 714s maybe coming loose like that, but doubtful on no 5s ..
-some- Kadees were assembled too high, the upper part of the trip pin should be level with the upper part of the casting ..
