It appears that our friend Marty Fitzhenry has fought a brave fight, but his body is giving up.

According to Dotty, Marty is soon to be, if not already, in hospice care.

Godspeed Marty.

His name sounds very familiar. I believe Marty's layout was once featured in OGR, around 25 years ago. Was Marty once a police or corrections officer? Unfortunately, I don't have those issues any longer, but the article seemed to mention how he would work on his layout well into the night.

I'm sorry to hear that... all the best to Marty and his family.

I conversed with Marty a few times about pantographs and catenary. He was always knowledgeable and really helpful. Nice guy.

Best wishes and prayers to him and his family.

Jeff,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. While I was an OGR Forum member, Marty helped me out several times and even mailed me some MTH parts free of charge(he absolutely refused any sort of compensation) even though we had never met. I also purchased a couple of train shirts from Dotty. My prayers & good wishes go out to both of them

I've never met Marty, but it will be a loss to the train modeling community.
