I've been following some of the auctions on ebay and I'm trying to get an idea of those little extra $$$ that come out and say surprise.

Most of the sellers are located in the US but the actual locomotives I've seen are probably made in China or somewhere similar. Can someone tell me if there are customs duty charges when these purchases are shipped into Canada and what the approx rate is. I wasn't able to find any information of value on the internet.

Also what is the best/safest way to have locomotives sent, I don't want to use UPS. Is USPS priority post fairly safe for shipping or is some other way better.

My experience level using ebay is 'zero' so any information will be an eduction.

Thanks
Steve

I thoroughly enjoy using Ebay, having only been stung once. When I mail things to Canada, it only requires some additional postage and a customs sheet. I've never had an issue with your customs concerning any of my packages---that is---no one on your side of the border has told me any different:D
