I've been checking out these Z scale threads and it has piqued my interest. I model in HO but these fascinate me.

If someone would have a more or less unassembled engine I'd like a pic or two of the motor. It would be helpful to have something in the pic to compare the size to, ie: an American quarter/dime/nickle/penny etc.

Also, do they use the same power pack rating as a typical HO unit does? Or, put another way, can you use an HO power pack to run them?

I did spend some time searching posted threads looking for this info but I was unable to find anything. If it's been posted, my bad.

I don't have pictures but Z scale is about 3/4 the size of N scale.

Z Scale runs on 8 volts max. You can use any power pack but must limit the output to 8 volts. Marklin packs max out at 8 volts.

Actually the current crop of AZL engines are rated for 12VDC.
Thank you ModelWarships, this is really good to know!

No one can see it but the wheels in my head have been turning, hence my original post:D.

Does anyone know the size difference between the motors in Z and N? Are they fairly close?
