Ok so first is first.... my hobbies are fronted by me purchasing things and selling most off but keeping a few...

i just bought home automation stuff....$650 stuff on clearance....
sold 1/2 of it... and took that $650 to $1400.... now i bought a new paintball vest ($200), dropped $40 in HO track on ebay, bought some trains and just spend some of the money... but i still have my starting funds left....

this is just "What I Do"....

so i have an oppertunity for everyone else here....in my new hobby of trains...

i dont need any buildings, dont need track now but do need the tracks that allow you to tie others in.. like left and right things (sorry for my lack of terms)...

but anyway... a guy locally is selling a ton of stuff.... all i would want is a passenger car or 2, dual transformers and a few locomotives....

but th is is where you come in....

1. first is all this stuff worth $500
2. do you see anything in there you want?
3. even if something is in there worth $50... ill take alot less if i can get most sold and my $500 back......

so tell me if it is worth it and if you want anything and ill go get this stuff!!!!!!

here are pics to his stuff

Hello TeleFragger

I am sure that most people on the list would want a list of the engines /cars with manufacturer , model number etc and some kind of information about weather it is DC / DCC etc.

Looks like a good haul though.

Thanks

TeleFrag,

Without knowing specific mfrs and model numbers, here's a rough guess on used-item value ...

16 locos @ $15 to $20 each average = $240 to $320

20 freight cars @ $5 each = $100

4 passenger cars @ $10 each = $40

4 Tech transformers @ $30 each = $120

Misc track, switches = $20 to $50 ... not too many people looking for brass track

Misc buildings, etc. = $20 to $40

Tally -- $540 to $670 ... fuzzy guesstimate.

So, perhaps some profit in resale, but consider time to list/sell, package/send, etc.

well i dont care about my time... that gets lost in so many hobbies and wife to do lists....

i figured if i picked all this up and ebay or sold here.. hopefully make my money back and help others..... even if i dont make my money back.. i just dont want to shell out and have all that stuff in my posession as i wont use that much stuff..... im only looking to setup a small setup with my kids.. so i could just get 1 dual control power supply and that would do me good....this guy wont part with any of it... so figured buy it, keep what i want and sell..

hmmm what to do....

Offer $350 see what happens, then say $400, then $425,then $450 and tell him that's all. Can't hurt to try. The man might need some quick cash.

I picked up $1700 worth of O trains, catalog price. He was asking $800 or best offer. I offered $500 thinking he would turn it down. Come to find out he needed the money to make his next mortgage payment.

I said sold American:D:laugh:

His loss my gain. Can't hurt to try.
