The lettering and numbers look like they were painted using a paint mask. Probably the same paint mask was used for each variation. These reefers are around 50 years old so there wasn't much concern back then about the smaller details.

KMT Yakima Valley Apples reefers
A string of very hard to find Postwar Kris Model Trains Yakima Valley Apples reefers. I have been able to locate 4 variations over the past 40 years or so, don't think there is a fifth. Alison Cox once told me he thought he saw an orange with black roof but I have never come across it.
