Tall grass

Anyone have any good ideas for making Tufts of grass in a light golden color?
G handy;

I use cheap paint brush bristles, glued onto the ground cover scenery. Cheap, and very effective. Not the best photo, kind of overexposed, but look at the riverbank under the left side of the bridge. There are some "weeds" there made from paint brush bristles and cut off rope fibers.

I use my older horse hair (or similar synthetic) paint brushes.
I dab on some green die at the base leaving the top natural color. I tried using the brand new paint brush bristles but didn't like the uniform color.
