I read where glycerin and denatured alcohol can be used to preserve lichen. Over time lichen becomes hard and will crumble if touched. Has anyone used this formula or do you have another idea for keeping lichen playable ?

Did you spray it on lichen that was in place on your layout ?

a large bag of prepared lichen is only a couple of bucks at Walmart ... it needs running through a meant grinder to shorten it up for ground cover purposes .. it's already sprayed and soaked to give it a long life

I sprayed it on in place on the layout. I used a piece of cardboard to protect stuff I did not want to get wet. Some lichen I just put in a small bucket and sprayed then put it back.

But I don't shop at Walmart.....LOL Seriously, I was able to get a good amount of lichen on Evilbay.
