Thank you for this information. Someone had noted on this or another forum that the correct Mohawk tender tooling had once been used by Lionel but way back when in the 90s and they were not clear whether they had it any more. Obviously they don’t.
This latest catalog mess up does not inspire confidence. The illustrations appear to be close to what Lionel intends to produce but the text tells a different story. I can’t understand how an initial announcement of scale-size tenders could be made and then recanted so quickly. The left hand appears not to know what the right is doing.
Recent experience (the VL Challenger sound issue) showed that Lionel catalogs have to be read carefully for what they do and don’t say. On this occasion, I am not happy to find that the catalog was confusing and inaccurate.
I don’t expect Lionel will do anything to correct the tender size issue. I wanted a Daylight version, which is a fantasy scheme anyway, but now I am disinclined to buy something that hasn’t been properly described but we are just expected to accept.
