I purchased a new in the box 364 lionel lumber loader. The belt slips on the drive pulley, does not seem to catch on something anywhere because i can move it easily by hand. I have a rubber type pulley traction band that i used on the old loader that slips over the drive pulley, but the old one had a floating drive pulley.
The new one has a fixed pulley, i don`t want to stretch the belt by adding the traction band.
Has anyone had this problem, and what did yo do to fix it??

Seems like all the new accessories have problems right out of the box.

If you use sandpaper, use fine stuff, something like 400 grit.
I think i`m going to use the rubber traction band, it was supposedly made for the lumber loader to prevent the belt from slipping. This is a new loader, does not have the swing pulley, it is stationary. I just hope it does not make the belt too tight and stretch or pull it apart.
When i move the belt by hand, it seems to be too loose though.
I do however have a new spare belt in case i need it.

Thanks, WMnut

Hi this is the guy T Man is talking about,
https://www.modeltrainforum.com/search.php?searchid=14011494&pp=25

I went thru 12 pages of threads looking for it, I may have missed it as he has a ton of videos in most threads he does.

T MAN WHEN YOU TELL SOMEONE SOMETHING LIKE THIS WHY DON'T YOU TOSS A LINK OUT?
It would make things a whole lot easier.

WMut I am going to try one more thing, hold on.

I tried a couple of advanced searches on his threads and couldn't find it.

One thing you could do is try to PM him and ask him to toss you a link.

Maybe T Man will see what I wrote and post a link to the thread.

Thanks, DUH...... I read the t mans reply wrong I was searching for the log loader.
I still got the idea of using the tape watching that video. My thinking as of now is, i will use the tape or the rubber traction band, probably the traction band if it does not make the belt too tight.

Thanks for your input,

The video shows vinyl tape used as traction tires.
With no video I used it on the 164 log loader.
Yeah, i could see where one could use vinyl tape on the loader pulley watching that video. But as i told Big Ed, my thinking as of now is, i will use vinyl tape or the rubber traction band. If the traction does not make the belt too tight, i will use that.
Thanks for you input on the lumber loader.
