I have a 8020 deseil engine that has the pinion gear on the drive truck coming off its mounting pin and binding the other gears. I got a replacement (orginal gear's mounting hole looks slightly larger then the mounting pin) and it has the same size mounting hole. Did I get the wrong part?

I am looking at possible filling in the gears mounting hole with a plastic compound and then re-drilling it to the correct size. Even with this effort, I may still have the same problem.

Anyone have a similar experence that was able to fix the problem?

Repair complete. This engine is not by far my best puller. Corrected the problem by replacing the gear and shorting the gauge between the wheels (very little shorting). Now it works great!
