a simple expedient for a lighted car. i drilled holes in the flat car to run the wires, tucked the wires under the battery pack. the battery cover is secured with a screw and there is a 3 volt input on the side of the battery pack. its crude but it works, its really easy, simple, surprisingly bright and CHEAP !!!

RECHARGABLE BATTERIES

Looking good Ben. Just a thought on the batteries type used here. Would the wiring schematic to the input/output jack allow the use of rechargeable batteries? Of course a 3vdc power supply " WALL WART" and a charging cable may have to be fabricated if an over the counter one is not available. I know that Amazon sells variable voltage wall warts with a collection of cable adapters for cheap. One may not have to change out batteries very often if at all when rechargeable batteries can be used and recharged while still in the battery holder on the flat car.

with average use these batteries will last for weeks, months probably. these are ultra cheap carbon batteries and will last several days if left on. you could use rechargeable batteries but i dont think the expense warrants it.
