Last week I ordered the Williams FA-1 AA Locos and they should be here next week. In the meantime I want to disassemble the wheels and axles on the Lionel rail cars I have been getting off of ebay. Are they easy to take apart? I want to clean the wheels and axle ends and the pockets they go into. Is it a good idea to put a dab of light grease or vaseoline on the ends of the axles? Thanks.

No but he wants to. Grease works.I use little to none. It collects too much grime. Only if it squeeks. I still have plenty of AT fluid!

That reminds me I do have one stuck switch and I am using the AT fluid. It's at the end of the 022 switch deep inside the coil just enough for the switch not to fully engage. It's the one with a bad slider.
