Does someone make a soundboard that I can install into a Lionel Alco engine that never had sound.

The after market companies for Lionel Products come and go like the seasons. The market doesn't support them. I am not willing to pay 60 bucks and experiment to get it to work.
If you convert to DC then it would ne worth to try.
There was an interesting note on old transformers and voltage spikes in the DC MRC sound board manual.
