Hi all. I would really like to take my small kids to see a really nice decked out layout. But I can't find anything advertised on the web. Does anyone know of a layout open to the public within, say 100 miles of Memphis, or could you direct me to a reliable directory? Is there an annual convention we might catch?

I know about the Casey Jones Museum in Jackson TN. -Not quite what I had in mind.

A train show would have a working display. The Great Train Show has dates across the country. Your second bet would be a model rr club or toy museum. Nashville had one but I do not know if it is current. The Cumberland county fair had a layout by the Crossville RR Club. You could go to bookstore and find a Model RR mag. It would have train show dates. Good Luck. Perhap ome member that are closer to you will have a more precise answer for you. If all ele fails Lionel Dealers are suppoe to have a working display. A large dealers ship would have a larger diplay.

Another place you could check would be your local hobby/train store. Even if they don't have a layout, they should be in the loop regarding local swapmeets, clubs and displays. I know Kansas City has a layout on public display (old downtown union station), and St. Louis has one (retired webster groves train station), so I'd be willing to bet Memphis has one too.
