hiya!...

My boyfriend and I are looking to find a relatively low priced HO scaled turntable for our new layout. Preferably pit style, but at this point we're open for anything that anyone might have available even if it's used and a bit abused.:D

Choo Choo (Greg) here on the forum has some good intel on cheap / manual turntables, I think. Search for some of his old posts, or maybe (hint hint!) he'll chime in here!

I bought two Kibri manual turntables from Australia...

...and the shipping was colossal. The total worked out at $29 each. If I had it to do all over again, I'd get the Atlas manual turntable...

Amazon sells them for $20.02.

The Atlas has it's rotating track and electrical connections already built in... whereas the Kibris come empty.

thanks.. we'll probably end up with the atlas so that i don't have to cut a hole in the table top. but then again i can always get a different one later..

Hi Jeff, :)

I got them here...

Kibri Turntable on Ebay

They're nice in that they don't need a hole in the table just like the Atlas ones. I put mine on pieces of sheetmetal so I can move them around easily. I also like that they don't need a crank. You just push them around by hand with the little handles on each end. The only way the shipping makes any sense is if you buy two or more. I'm going to use one to select a variety of yard tracks and engine houses, and the other for an end of the line turnaround up in the hills.

The downside is that you have to mount your own track and electrical connections. The Atlas ones look much nicer with the embedded rails.
