Hello all, I am new to the forum and train collecting. I am a huge nutcracker collector and want to expand into a train collector. The first train I want to intergrate into my current collection is the Lionel Nutcracker Route train set. It will link my collections together. I am currently (and for a while) looking for the Lionel Nutcracker route train set. If you have one that you are willing to sell or know of someone, please let me know. I can be reached via cell phone at 561-248-1165 or email at [email protected]. Thank you all in advance for any and all the help you could give me. Have a great holiday season. Keith Munyan

Thank you both for your replies. I have tried everything and everywhere so far. And I have come up empty. Well not totally, one guy in Arizona said he had a brand new set, but it was a scam. He wanted me to deposit the money directly into a bitcoin wallet. When I googled his name and address, nothing matched. And his id was fake. So i am still looking. If anyone hears anything please let me know.

Nutcracker, if you use ebay create a search for it and set it to notify you when an item is found. I use that and it works well for things I am trying to find. It will send you an email when one shows up for sale.

And, set several searches. One for Lionel Nutcracker. One for Lionel (model # of the set), etc. Some people list things by name, some by model #. So set multiple searches to increase your chance. Also keep in mind that discontinued items will attract a higher price, and don't jump at the first high priced item unless you really want it. Trust me, another one will come along, it just depends how much you want to pay. And lastly, if it's a high price, send them a message and ask if they have a 'best offer' price. Half the time they will.

That is some great info. I truly appreciate everyones help. I will definately do that with Ebay. To answer the second question, I am not sure why it is hard to find. I really wish it was not. My life would be easier. Thanks again for all the info and help. Keep me posted if anyone hears or sees anything.

The answer is probably because it's discontinued. So you're just going to have to find someone with NOS (new old stock) or a used item. One will pop up, it just may take some time.
