I'm stating the obvious, but poke around ebay with various search words that suit your particular interest. You'll find lots ... perhaps not to buy just yet, but lots to key you in at to "what's out there" and "how much things should cost". Good research tool.

Thanks TJ...ebay scares me anymore because some people are so whacked on their prices. I'm not sure what is worth what yet so I'm hoping you vets will help me out. Been selling and buying other stuff on ebay for years but with the model train stuff I'm clueless. Keep me posted and thanks.

Use ebay as a research tool ... search "Completed Listings" ... the "real value" of something is whatever people are willing to pay for it ... "completed listings" (of what sold ... and what DIDN"T sell) gives you a good snapshot summary here.
