added a tab & slot coupler, the coupler is mounted to the motor not the shell. this actually runs quite well, if you squint your eyes it looks like an antique locomotive, kinda...

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

That is a neat idea for a powered caboose. You now have a helper engine disguised as a caboose. Just add some paint in your favorite livery scheme and you will be all set.
