Ok guys,

I broke down today and visited that little shop that I got my diesels from, and picked this up..

Sorry for the blurry pics. Cheap camera

There are wires hanging out the back, not sure what that is all about:confused:

As you can see, the drivetrain is really dirty

I don't think it came with trucks or a tender. It says "400" on the cab

It looks like it has the same reverse unit that my Santa Fe diesel has.
Anyway, another project to add to the list:laugh:

Ian,

Welcome to the land of steam!!! Remember this moment carefully ... you'll be telling your grandkids about it someday!

Nice little loco (uhh ... excepting for that little paint job horror show ... canary yellow on a boiler front ... hmmm ... you'll be fixin' that soon, I hope!).

You'll get some great Marx tips from a few guys here on the forum. You might check out this link that has some general info on old Marx engines ...

Have fun!

Thanks TJ, Its all your fault you know:laugh:

I've been doing a little research. I guess it did come with a tender after all.

I've seen NY Central, Santa Fe and Penn Central tenders on this kind of loco.

I've already located a few on eBay, so I'll see if I can snag one.

Yes, the yellow paint will be history soon enough:D

Don't the wires go to the tender?
