Haven't heard anything new with these engines lately. Are V!,V2, V3 still running or are they turning up on "de-bay"? Wonder if Menards will still go with them or decided to abandon idea.

Well, I hope they persevere, but with the pandemic supply-chain issues and such they may have re-thought just how many headsches they want to create for themselves. I would think in the long run they will, somehow, do something like that.Haven't heard anything new with these engines lately. Are V!,V2, V3 still running or are they turning up on "de-bay"? My worry is that we will be waiting a long time then….probably after the coming recession….I think Lee meant that Menards will do locomotives but may be waiting for better economic times
I think that is inevitable. I doubt the recession will stand in the way much, but the supply chain issues and such caused by the pandemic will probably have to be tolerated and things will not return to normal until they are resolved. My worry is that we will be waiting a long time then….probably after the coming recession….
I am surprised that Menards is re-inventing the wheel with this engine. I would have thought that they would have contracted with Lionel or someone and created a Menards "Jack the dog" set, and let Lionel do the repair work. As it is, unless Menards has a quick turnaround repair depot, they will have train repair headaches plus unhappy customers if told sorry we don't repair this, I think (but what do I know....)Well, it may stand in the way for those of us without unlimited resources (money)….![]()

I'd bet that Menard's is just replacing any defective engines, that's all baked into the overall price.I am surprised that Menards is re-inventing the wheel with this engine. Yep, they won't be messing with a repair dept. Exchange or refund will be the procedure for their products.I'd bet that Menard's is just replacing any defective engines, that's all baked into the overall price.
