Hello Fellow Modelers!

I'm a producer at an Emmy-Award winning production company and we're currently developing an online based video program about model railroading. We would hire a model train expert as the host, and they would travel the country, possibly even the world, to tour personal and professional model layouts. They would discuss the layouts with the owners, as well as provide expert advice and how-to's.

We would like to create a high quality series for model train enthusiasts. My research has found that you are all very interested in each others work and are constantly sharing videos and pictures of your layouts and trains. However, I'm wondering if you would be interested in a high quality version (most likely high definition)?

Any ideas or input? I'd like to hear all of your opinions about this so that we can develop the best video possible.

We would provide the video on demand and for free, with links from advertisements on various websites and in various magazines.

Does this sound interesting to you and could we build some enthusiasm for such a project? Again, we'd be using high quality cameras to get to the gritty passion of layout building.

Please let me know what you think about our program and any ideas or opinions about what kind of topics we could have our expert delve into. I'm open to hearing all of your comments!

Thanks, Rachel

Well, it sounds like you have all the resources to do it with, so I think this an awesome idea! You hit the nail right on the head, model railroaders greatly enjoy seeing the layouts of other enthusiasts :D

Including things like how-to's in the video would definitely catch people's attention...

Also, in my opinion you should not have any trouble getting people to back this... From my interpretation of what you said, this video series would expose watchers to a wide array of all things model railroad... I know that I am always looking around online to see the ideas that others come up with in their layouts...

As far as specifics, I know that I would like to see some model railroading history... Finding someone with a nice prewar Lionel themed layout would make my day
