You airbrush your mountains? I use a wash on mine. I may airbrush to highlight and detail, but I don't airbrush the WHOLE thing. Must be tedious work. Usually the "grass" and vegetation cover any flaws. You are very dedicated, my friend.
One of the air brushes I use has a wide and heavier spray. I used to wash mine first but this gives a better effect in the cracks and indents and then highlights.
I use a sponge and a watered down water based stain. A bit messy at times but very fast. I've even stood back and just slung the stain, like tossing water from a bucket. Whatever works..
