Picture of a multi-gen set diesel locomotive Class WDM2G of Indian Railways on my layout. This locomotive has three 800 hp “gen-sets” which can work individually in parallel. This means that one, two or three of the Gen-sets can be operated depending on the situation and power required, translating into tremendous energy-efficiency (two engines can be shut down while running light or idling).

Here's another Genset model, this is the Lionel Vision Line genset. It has three independently controlled smoke units and emulates the running of one, two, or three gensets based on demand.

John,

Thank you it is a great model, my Ho scale one does not have smoke etc.

Regards,

Vik.

Among the fawncy details on the NS loco, is that a Qualcom dispatcher
control unit similar to what is used on trucks perched on it's cab roof? Wow.
