Just an update. This just started to display my 1958 Revell my dad got me. Yes I'm listening to some of you guy's. The advice and guidance help's. Working on one part of my layout at a time now. The cattle side I added a farm house and a barn. I'm not as good as others with diorama's and or building but I am trying. My little pond took several try's. An old note book cover and walking around the yard for some small rocks , tree branches... That worked when I was a kid and found out that still works. Ha Ha ! when I was a kid... A few changes here and there over time will help. Time is what I have especially on cold winter days. It may still not ever be a 100% real reproduction of any railway system BUT it's my (Litefoot's) version of a layout. So far it makes me happy and I think the hook is back in my ___ again. I guess it's ready for Christmas BUT I think now that I'm hooked again it will never be finished. Always something that will change. Having fun and that's what counts.

Nice little layout there. Especially if you haven't had a layout in a while. Your skills and realism (if you want it) will improve with experience and practice. And you're absolutely right -- do what works for you and have fun doing it!

That looks great! You are up and running, which is more than I can say right now......

But your comment about "cold winter days".....you're kidding, right? You're in New Orleans......how cold can it get there?

Thank's

Thanks guy's. Will get better in time as you all say. Hey old hobo/dispatcher my first hobby is catching fish. Game fish , seven months out the year. That's when the water is at least 78* and above in Lake Pontchartrain. Yes no winter to speak of in New Orleans. I look at everything from a fisherman's view. Only go for good fighting fish , trout and drum do nothing for me anymore. Like game fish like jack's. But trains are giving that a good run during the off season.

Mac Daddy55 , given me an idea for the other side on that figure eight. Maybe a plant? May balance out the theme? That is if I really have a theme.

Fair enough! I guess winter can mean different things to different people... I think I like your winter, compared to the ones we usually get up here....:D

Calgary or should I say Cowtown? Would take rest of my life to acclimate to what is it today. 18* F at 3PM... Bet I could find something to fish for in all the mountain rivers and lake's up there. Beautiful land and so clean ! BUT cold , see why you have an indoor hobby. I'll say were I'm at , use to the heat even in winter
