I believe Lionel did the F12a which later became F12es when they added superheaters. F12a 8xx cab number, F12e 12xx. Lionel did them both plus a 3rd. One Odyssey, two Legacy. They all run together in TMCC mode.

Nice looking engine but you have me thoroughly confused. I thought this was Monday but now I'm uncertain because you usually post this on Tuesday. :D Now I'll be confused all week.:D
Sorry, I should have explained. I am have a small "procedure" tomorrow that will correct a deficiency in the last surgery, but keep me away from the forum for a day or two.

I have to agree with you Lee, the ten wheeler is a great loco and at just about the right size. It would be at home with switching, branchline duties, or any where you want to use it. I have a Lionel also, but it is the TMCC version before they made the Legacy ones. As you pointed out they don't have the "wow factor" like the mallets, but they sure do like great on our layouts.

Watching a video. I fell for that whistle. I have been hounding Lionel for years to offer a Rutland Milk Train set. Finally decided to make my own. I purchased a Northern Pacific seeing it had the correct white striping. I couldn’t agree more with Lee. Just a simple well running engine. I liked it enough to buy a second for doubleheading.

Dave, that is a beautiful picture! I love the weathering and realism and the way that you have staged this shot. I can picture myself standing at trackside as these two engines speed your milk train to it's destination.
