Turns out MTH reissued this locomotive with PS2 3V about 10 years ago: https://mthtrains.com/20-3378-1

The other option would be to PS3 convert your locomotive, if you're so inclined.

Nice locomotive. I've kinda wanted a Lionel Southern Pacific AC-9 (I only run AT&SF and SP locomotives) but even with the 072 curves on my layout it's a bit too large. The overhang would likely hit the supports in the tunnel under my downtown area. So for now my largest locomotive is my MTH Premier Santa Fe 2-10-4 Texas, which clears everything fine. It's pretty massive though, almost as large as a Big Boy.

Well... almost only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes. :D 111 feet vs 133 feet is about a 20% difference. :D

That's really a good looking locomotive Lee. I like the paint.

Sound has come a long way since that was probably made.

16 & 24 bit sample rates are now the norm, and memory for longer sample storage has also been increased. Also, digital sound processing of those samples has gotten much better over just the last several years.
