I would love it if those rumors were true but I would be very supprised. The Class A was the main item that lead to the famous "lawsuit" that almost bankrupted Lionel back in the early 2000's. As I recall, Lionel was no longer allowed to use the tooling that was used to produce the Class A because the design was stolen from MTH. If that is true, Lionel offering a Class A would require all new tooling. I have the 2000 issue Class A but would love one with Vision Line features. And if rumors are accurate, it sounds like Lionel's 2020 VisionLine announcement might be based on the N&W Class A articulated steamer -- hasn't been done since around 2000 if I'm not mistaken. Back in those days, it carried an MSRP of just a mere $1,400. Expect it to come in a tad more than that these days -- especially if it's a VisionLine model.

a Class "A" would be very tempting indeed. She's a sweet looking engine and one I could run on my layout.I would love it if those rumors were true but I would be very supprised. Hope you are correct.

Uhh, a tad more. If the vision offering is that I would expect maybe $2200?And if rumors are accurate, it sounds like Lionel's 2020 VisionLine announcement might be based on the N&W Class A articulated steamer -- hasn't been done since around 2000 if I'm not mistaken.
