Keep an eye out for any potential derailment risks on that left side of the table ... gravity is alive and well, and I'd hate to see your locos take an unexpected dive to the floor.

I wrapped the edge of my table with pipe insulation foam ... basically a foam tube that's split down one side. You can simply friction-fit it to the edge of the table. It'll add a nice cushion barrier to help stop those nasty floor dives.
