i have a set with 2 switches (1 lh and 1 rh). they are fast track and are manual. when the engine passes it tries to switch on its own causing the tender or what ever car behind it derail. new to this and stumped, please help!

switch

The switch has anti derail. all I can say is does the switich handle move when the engines passes. If it does it is too loose. Wrap a rubber band around it and to something else to have it drag more when you operate. A few pictures would help.

First off what kind of engine and tender is doing it. Do you have more engines? Do they all do it?

thank you for responding, it is a 2-8-4 Berkshire steam locomotive and tender. the switch handle does move, it actually just flips the switch over like its suppose to do it.

It's supposed to flip by your hand :D and not when a train passes over it. Go with what T said and secure it a little then see if it happens.

As I don't have any fast track and never did I don't know much about fast track.

But if it has an anti derailing built in you might need some fiber (plastic) pins maybe??
