I'm having a little problem some of my rolling stock doesn't match up with the new stuff. Where is the best place to get the updated couplers HO Scale?
Most rolling stock made nowadays takes Kadee #5..."Ol' reliable" on the package. The older your pieces get, the more difficult it will be for a drop in fit.
...as I got the excellent recommendation on the 148's on another forum from someone else who is far more experienced than me.
The 148's come with these really neat draft boxes that simply snap together. For example, I just got a little bobber caboose on ebay for $4.75 including shipping...
It's a really old one with metal wheels, rails, and ladders, and had totally non complying couplers and boxes, so I cleaned it up, took them off and superglued #148 boxed couplers right on. I'm such a big fan of Kadee's consistently high quality and practical design because they make projects go so easy.
(...also wanted to let you know how much I've been enjoying your blog website... )
