My name is Gary. I Jut inherited a pretty large O gauge train collection and I came here while doing some research to see what I had. The collection is all display and there is no track so I’m pretty sure it has never been run. The research is two fold. One, I’m trying to figure out what the collection is worth. I am very interested in model trains and it’s all cool stuff, but my interest is steam and the Southern lines. Most of this collection doesn’t fall in this area, so I am probably going to try and sell most of it. Two I may try and acquire some of the line that interest me and start a small setup. Since I have no track and know nothing, I came here to learn.

Welcome to the site.
Ask away don't be afraid to.

Post what you have in the O scale forum.

Are they older trains?
You might be able to ID some in here,
http://www.tandem-associates.com/lionel/lionelident.htm

Here is another site that may help you too.
But like I said ask away here.

Thanks, I have already identified most of them. I still have all of the original boxes, so It wasn’t too difficult. They are mostly MTH, Lionel and some Williams. They are late 90s, early 2000 . There is more structure than I could ever use,
so I could swap some of it for some track.

While posting in the 0 gauge forum will get you the
attention of our members who work in that scale, if
you wish to sell any of what you have you can
advertise it FREE in our For sale or Trade Forum.

For best results, post pictures of each item you offer.
Set a price, even if Or Best Offer, and state terms
of payment and shipping.

Trains in original boxes do seem to bring better prices,
so, note that for any such item.

Boxing and shipping can be quite a chore. You might
find offers from any local Hobby Shop or train club, or at least, they help you with pricing.
