hey all, i added a grain building and started ballasting the track! ballast takes a long time! got some yard operations going and three trains running. i have to say..........limited as it may be, i am having a blast with the bachmann DCC. my bachmann engines have broken in and are much more quiet now. i stopped by my lhs and he does not have the programming set up yet to set my cv's - 2 or 3 weeks. next building - a coaling station for coal cars?????

i would prefer a more modern truck. smaller or larger is ok - just needs to fit in the grain driveway.

For the elevator you could use and 18 wheeler with a dump trailer. That is how many farmers deliver their grain from the fields to the elevator at harvest time.

Is that the Walther's Farmer's CoOp. I have one that is almost identical but was missing the lean-to on the side, it was an missing parts special. Great kit considering that it had the elevator, track side warehouse and a scale house included.

yes, walthers. i do like the look. i still have to paint my freight warehouse - the light inside makes the walls yellow. my lhs guy said the grain elevator would take a couple days to assemble - or two hours

Did you paint it red or did it come like that out of the box?
Eventually I'll buy this kit and want to paint it to simulate tin sidings, then apply weathering.

this kit came red in color - no paint. i liked the look.

komodo - the santa fe is a bachmann DCC on board - it is really quiet - moreso than the d&rgw bachmann DCC on board.??? you can't hear the athearn (bnsf 121) at all - super quiet.

As they were out of the red grain elevators, I ordered this one.



Hopefully it is complete and not a missing parts discount like my ADM grain elevator was.
